9. Searching the Library Catalog: Requesting & exporting items

If an item is listed as AVAILABLE, you can go to the location and pull it off the shelf (with some exceptions, like Special Collections and the OSU Book Depository).

To save you time, items listed as AVAILABLE can be sent to any campus library location (so you don't have to go to each location to get what you need!). If you are in a dorm or faculty/staff with an office, you can have items delivered via campus mail. The quickest pickup location is Thompson Library.

Use this button to ask for items to be delivered. This button will also put a HOLD on an item that is checked out. You must use this button for all items at the OSU Book Depository.
For items that are checked out, try the first. Reference and reserve items cannot usually be sent away from their location.

You can save your search results and even export them to a bibliography tool, such as RefWorks:

Movie Time!

View the Saving & Exporting Catalog Records video to see how it's done.
