8. Discovering E-books: Using Google Books

Google Books is a free resource that anyone with an Internet connection can use to search thousands of e-books. Many of these are older books that have been scanned into PDF documents. Books come in three major types:


Free Google eBooks
Google eBooks
Preview Available
No Preview

For Limited Preview and No Preview books, you have the option of places to purchase the book or search for it in a library.


Google Books allows you to browse or do a simple search:



Remember, some books in Google may not have the full view - some may only let you see selections and some may not give you any views. When you click on a title in your search results, it will look something like this if there is a limited or full view (notice search terms are highlighted):
