About Nancy O'Hanlon
Nancy O'Hanlon is an instructor for this course. I am an Associate Professor at Ohio State University, affiliated with University Libraries. My other official title is Instruction Librarian. In that role, I am the person responsible for developing and managing net.TUTOR as well as online courses.
Professional Information
My graduate degree in Library and Information Science is from the University of Illinois. I came to Ohio State University in 1983 to work in the Undergraduate Library (which no longer exists as a separate facility) and have been employed in a variety of jobs since then. More work-related information is available from my resume.
Personal Information
I'm from Chicago, Illinois. Some of my hobbies and interests include gardening, movies, cycling, watching NFL football and, of course, the Buckeyes. I like fantasy football too. My team, the Columbus Aging Hippies, did well in the Yahoo! fantasy league last fall.
My family also has many pets. A cat (Mike) and four rabbits (Pook, a Mini-Lop, Teddy DuPay, a Rex, Jake, a Mini-Rex, and Bob the Bunny, a Dutch) inhabit our home. Rabbit owners love to put pictures of bunnies on the Web, but I don't have any to post now.
About Karen Diaz
Karen Diaz is another instructor for this course. I am an Associate Professor at Ohio State University, affiliated with University Libraries. My other official title is Instruction Librarian. In that role, I teach USAS 120, USAS 121 and help develop and maintain components of each course.
Professional Information
My graduate degree in Library and Information Science is from Louisiana State University. I came to Ohio State University in 1991 to work in the Information Services Department in Main Library. I then became the Web Librarian, responsible for coordinating and maintaining the Libraries web site. I moved to the Libraries' Instruction Office in July 2000.
Personal Information
My hobbies and interests seem to revolve around those of my two young children these days including dance classes, playgrounds, story time at the public library and having friends over to play. I try to read. I love novels and like to think that my tastes lie with quality literature and not trash fiction. In my previous life, b.k. (before kids), I swam, biked, and read and worked a lot more than I do now. My husband is also a librarian, and we in fact met at OSU.
